Heritage -
Tradition is very important to agriculture in Iceland. Sheep farming has continued relatively unchanged since the first days Norwegian explorers settled here over eleven centuries ago.
To this day farmers are rearing their herds using centuries old methods, with most farms still family-owned and operated. Their love of the land and proud stewardship result in a process of care-taking that offers a shining example of sustainability and balance with the land while sharing the bounties of nature.
